Along with this award there are a few beauty questions to answer, so here goes...

1. What is your current beauty obsession?

My current beauty obsession would be my new Philosophy “Take a Deep Breath” Moisturizer.

2. What is one beauty item you wished you owned?

I would love to have tattoo eyeliner. Eyeliner is my least favorite to apply each morning and having it permanent would be so much easier. But I’m a scardey cat so that will probably never happen!

3. What kind of posts are you favorite to read and write?

I really like to read post that are about everyday life and getting to know someone. There is always someone that can offer some sort of advice or story that influences me.

4. What inspired you to become a blogger?

I started reading blogs before I had my own blog. Just everyday women had something to share and I figured I give it a try. Also I love communicating with new people!

5. What color nail polish are you wearing right now?

French manicure! Usually I have some sort of pink or coral on though!

You Are What You Eat

I’ve always heard the saying “you are what you eat” but at this point in my life, I have to disagree. For the past 3 years, I have been battling weight lost. Now I’m not going to sit here and whine bc I know that I could have far more weight problems than I do, but to me it’s a big deal. Recently, I looked back at old college pics(which was only 4 years ago) and it made me really anxious/depressed at the same time. When did this happen? Yes I know its part of age and all but I know what I can do and what I can look like. About a year ago, I went to the dr for a check up for other reasons than what they actually found. I am hypothyroidism which has so much to do with the lack of energy and weight gain.  For the most part, it was a relief because I finally had peace that it wasn’t because I wasn’t eating right or working out that caused the weight gain, it was my thyroid. So for a year now, I’ve been on medicine and will be for the rest of my life. I lost about 10 lbs the first few months but then slowly began to gain again. This past April I went back for my yearly check up and discovered my thyroid levels were worse than the first time. Again, I was relieved that it would be corrected and the weight would began to fall off. June has come around and haven’t lost a pound yet. In the mean time, I have tried every diet possible, supplements, Advocare, etc. At times I get so frustrated that I can’t loose and want to give up but I know I can beat this like anything else I’ve done. Everyday the thought is in the back of my mind though that this medicine won’t work either & I know that it’s just the devil talking. I’m learning not to depend on just the medicine to do the work but to eat foods that speed up the metabolism naturally as well as working out on a daily basis. My ultimate goal is 20 lbs which will def take more time than what I have but I pray for patience and for results everyday.

Organizing Craze

So lately I’ve been putting all almost all my time into…..ORGANIZING! One of my favorite past times & it was much needed in the new place too. Closet is organized, pantry, and I’ve even found a new project for my laundry room.

 

Earrings sorted by color…well sort of. I’m loving the necklace holder built by my talented bf. Rings and bracelets are stored in containers from the one and only, The Container Store.  When I say I feel so much more put together because of my jewelry being organized…..I really do!!!! It really is the little things in life :)

 

 

Clutches and hats share a shelf while some of my favorite handbags had to have a shelf added to the closet. I couldn’t have my handbags just laying around the closet of packed in a stacker somewhere. My belt hanger is also one of my favorite new organizing gadgets. It hangs on the back of my closet door and is so much more organized and easy to see.

 

I would love to organize my laundry room like the pic above. I’m thinking this is my newest project for next week. How handy dandy is the bobby pin holder? All it is is a magnet strip! And my favorite of all is the new canisters with labels. The labels were custom ordered from a shop on Etsy. Aren’t they the cutest? Cooking is so much more fun!

I’m Loving all my new purchases from Forever21. So many colorful pieces for summertime outings. Reid, if you are reading this please don’t judge me or my $ saving skills!

I’m Loving my sweet friend & co worker Crystal. She seriously has the best advice and can make anyone laugh! So thankful for our friendship.

I’m Loving a new dessert recipe I baked this past weekend for our cookout. It is seriously so easy and will melt in your mouth. Everyone loved it! You can find the recipe here.

I’m Loving the Jewelry Nut Auctions page on facebook. If you have the slightest obsession for jewelry or accessories you must like this page! Every Monday and Thursday night at 8 pm, they post pics of the items with details of pricing and quantity and all you do is comment “sold” Soo many cute things! I have placed 3 orders in the last week and can’t wait to receive my order. Once I do I will def share with you all!

I’m Loving the color blocking wardrobe look right now. How presh is this new blue necklace?

I’m Loving my new kicks I bought this weekend. I’ve heard so much about the Nike Free Run tennis shoes that I had to try them out myself. I must say they are very light and comfortable. November 2012 I will run my first Rock N Roll Marathon(relay) and must have the right shoes for that!

I’m Loving Maybooks! If you’ve never heard of them like them on facebook. They are customized notebooks, planners, meal planners, etc. and are soo cuuutte! I recently ordered a notebook and meal planner! Life is too short for ugly notebooks!

I’m Loving the time I got to spend with Mama on Saturday. I met her at Loft(which is one of our fav stores) and did a little shopping. She is the reason I’m a shopaholic. I started training early. hehe

Sunday Social Week 1

  Hey Y'all! I dont know about you but I'm so sad the weekend is over. So to help my feelings I thought I would do a little socializing and link up with Ashley!

1. How did you come up with your blog name? I am just that....A small town girl. Even though I love the bigger city I live in and all the glamorous things that go along with it, I still go back to my roots. 2. What is your favorite thing about blogging?One of my favorite things about blogging is meeting all diff types of new friends. So many bloggers have so much to offer whether it be advice, fashion ideas, recipes, etc.

3. What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now can't live without?

I always check out my fashionista bloggers for new wardrobe ideas and fashion pieces. Can't live without the up to date fashion world.

4. Facebook or Twitter? And why?

Ehh I know this is old school but I would have to say facebook. Most of my friends are still on fb and I looove pics & fb allows like a thousand at a time!

5. If one celeb read your blog, who would you want it to be?

Carrie Underwood.....I think we would be friends just by our morals, style, life lessons.

6. What is something you want people to know about your blog?

My blog is real. Nothing fake about it at all. Basically its all my random thoughts that I dont share with alot of people....lucky you! Or is it that no one cares? ;) Either way its me and sometimes it may have typos, ramblings, or really just dont make sense at times!

 

Its Ok Thursday!

  Good afternoon! I'm so thankful it's finally Thursday. Haven't participated in a link up in a while and thought today was the perfect day to link up with Amber!

It's ok....

....to have no weekend plans at this point and be excited about that.

....that I've shed tears at least 3 times this week already due to a stressful work week.

....that I've only worked out once this week.

....to be proud of yourself for finally standing up to a co worker. He's awful yall!

....that we still don't have vacation plans & it's really stressing me out.

....to look forward to wine night tonight since last week.

....to be obsessed with white pants and have worn them twice this week.

....to possibly laying out all day tomorrow when I have a thousand things to do around the house.

....that there are still boxes and decor things laying around my house just like I left it last Sunday.

....to think I have the prettiest porch in the complex.

....to spend time blogging at work instead of working.

Moving Weekend

  Happy Monday Y'all!!! So happy to have survived this weekend.....not because I had to much fun out or anything but bc I moved all weekend. Thank goodness for moving companies. No longer am I in denial that I have soo much stuff!

This is just a preview of all the unpacking I did this weekend.....does not include clothes, shoes, or the 5 boxes unpacked before this picture.

My first priority after unpacking as soon as possible was to get organized with my new organizing things! Love my necklace holder built by Reid! And I'm obsessed with snapware containers. I have even bought labels from etsy to add cuteness! Will post more pics later of the completed closet.

I must say, I am pretty proud of my porch. Perfect little place for wine and catching up with the girls! Can't wait for summer nights out here :)

And I had to share this with yall! The whole week before moving Reid dreaded it.....he was so afraid I was going to work him to death. He will go to any heights to get out of work! JK he was helping decorate the cabinets!

I can't wait to share the decorated & organized place with yall! Give me a few weeks though. I'm one busy girl this week!
